SOS Brigade

Suzumiya Haruhi

Voiced By: MissAck

Haruhi could only be described as an girl with the power to do anything, from giving people powers to creating an alternate reality. However, she ironically does not know of her ability, as her desire to see the un-ordinary contradicts with her common sense that they cannot exist; she makes it her dream to see the unknown, communicate with extraordinary, and anything related. Her club, the SOS Brigade, is set out to discover these beings. Ironically again, the people she would want to meet are her own members, cover-up seemingly otherworldy events and beings while entertaining her with activities a normal club would do.

Yuki Nagato

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

An alien created from the Integrated Data Entity, she was sent to Haruhi's world to observe, confront, and record data anomalies, specifically from Haruhi Suzumiya. She helps the other members from preventing Haruhi and non-Brigade members from finding out about her (Haruhi's) god-like powers. Yuki has a very stoic and introverted personality, preferring simple body language rather than speaking.

Mikuru Asahina

Voiced By: Light of Hope

Mikuru Asahina is a time traveler who investigated the reason why traveling past the time before three years prior to the story. She is considered the mascot of the SOS-dan, as Haruhi loves dressing her up and making her cosplay. She has a shy, timid personality, and has a slight crush on her underclassman, Kyon.

Itsuki Koizumi

Voiced By: MallenJr

An esper sent from an "Agency", he was sent to observe Haruhi from them after suddenly gaining his powers and knowledge three years ago before the current storyline. He has the power to enter an alternate dimension called "Closed Space", and battle beings from there. He usually wears a grin on his face, and enjoys quoting psychological theories and famous sayings from others.

Kyon

Voiced By: rocker2344

Kyon is, when it comes down to it, a normal human being surrounded by a multitude of extraordinary beings. He upholds the main responsibility of keeping Haruhi's powers (which are based on her mood, self-control and common sense) in check, a task he was charged with from the rest of the members. He has a bored and "lazy" personality, which is his greatest enemy when occupying Haruhi's "fun" time with everyone.

Schoolmates

Tsuruya-san

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

Tsuruya is the friend of Mikuru, famous for her fang-like tooth and her catchphrases of "nyoro" and "megas". Although not a direct member of the SOS-dan, she was named "honorary consultant of the SOS Brigade" due to helping out the club on many occasions. It is implied in the stories that she is rich and wealthy, but despite that, she maintains a cheery and hyperactive disposition. It's also hinted that she may know more about the SOS Brigade's secrets then she lets on, and may even be a covert supporter of "The Agency" that Itsuki Koizumi is part of. She is a secret lover of smoked cheese.

She never takes Alan too seriously, even when she seems serious enough. She loves joking and clowning around him. She is usually seen with Mikuru on their way to other classes. Tsuruya is one of the people that Alan sees as "normal", despite her optimistic and almost always cheerful attitude. When Alan exposes her secret love of a certain food, it is revealed that she can be as desperate for it as Alan is for Strawberry Milk.

Ryoko Asakura

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

The late beautiful and intelligent Asakura, who was admired by both girls and boys alike. She was extremely popular with everyone at the school, and was sought by many boys (Taniguchi places her in the top three first-year girls in the school with a grade of A++: indicative of her pleasant personality, beauty, and athleticism). She shows concern for much of the class as class president, especially for Haruhi. However, in reality, she is an alien, a humanoid interface, Yuki Nagato's backup. Like Yuki's early personality, she found it difficult to empathize humans and understand their reasoning, but unlike her superior, possessed extremely good social skills. She acts on her own accord without notifying Yuki or the Integrated Data Entity, trying to provoke a reaction from Haruhi by killing off one of her only "acquaintances" close to her at the time: Kyon. She failed, however and was eradicated from the current physical world. Yuki fabricates a cover behind Asakura's disappearance in stating that she and her family moved to Canada. In an alternate timeline where Haruhi does not develop her powers (thereby making existance of espers, aliens, and time travelers impossible), it is revealed that she cares deeply and is best friends with the alternate Yuki, even attacking Kyon (from the original time plane) when she thought he was attacking the "Yuki-verse" Yuki.

She does not appear in the current time plane/dimension, although there are references to her when Alan is asked if he has seen her from his home country: Canada. She does appear in the "Yuki-verse", though, overprotective of Yuki and seen following her everywhere. She holds a deep grudge with Kyon, although she hides it under her friendly personality.

Taniguchi

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

Taniguchi is a classmate of Haruhi and Kyon, being friends with the latter. He is usually seen with his other friend Kunikida, and, like Tsuruya, they act as fill-ins for the SOS Brigade when doing certain activities. Taniguchi is something just a little less of comically lavicious; he once rated girls on their attractiveness from "D" to "A", only remembering the names of those with "A" ratings. Out of all the characters, Taniguchi has the most history with Haruhi before the SOS Brigade, being in her same class since the start of Junior High, though almost completely unromantic. (He was one of the people to go on a date with Haruhi during her "dating frenzy". It is implied by Kyon that the relationship only lasted about five minutes, the shortest she has ever dated.) Because of his slight perv-ish personality, some choose to avoid him, with even Kyon stating that he only hangs around him to avoid being an outcast and loner.

When Alan meets Taniguchi, he immediately has a distasteful first impression on him, going so far as to strike him "off [his] respect list". He is one of the first people to strike a conversation with Alan on his first day as a transfer student.

Kunikida

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

Like Taniguchi, Kunikida is a classmate and a friend of Kyon. Often seen with Taniguchi, he never strays far from his friend's activities. He seems unaffected by Taniguchi's personality, hanging around him much of the time, which lead some to believe he's in league with the lavicious activities of his friend. It's sometime implied that Kunikida seems intelligent and up to date with current news. He is more quieter than his outlandish friend, but knows more about Kyon's past than most people due to the fact that he went to the same high school as him, once stating that "Kyon's always liked weird girls", which supports the idea of Kyon's less-than-platonic interest in Haruhi. However, Kunikida says this as a speculation, since he mistakened the fact of Kyon and his old close middle school friend, Sasaki, when they were just good friends.

To Alan, he enjoys Kunikida's presence more than Taniguchi's. During their first impression on Alan, he describes them as loud person (Taniguchi) and a polite person (Kunikida).

Emiri Kimidori

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

A second year student, she was first introduced to the SOS Brigade as a customer for their "counseling service". Her "boyfriend", the Computer President, was missing for some time, and she wished for the SOS' intervention on the matter. This was just an act to get Haruhi excited and less bored. Because she was the first customer, Haruhi offers the service free of charge. It is implied that Kimidori is actually another humanoid interface, and a colleague of Yuki Nagato. However, she is from another faction of the Integrated Data Sentient Entity, a non aggressive one, however, still one that is not necessarily in support of all of Nagato's rebellious actions.

Emiri Kimidori has yet to appear in the scripts or the novels.

Computer Research Society President

Voiced By: N/A Voice Actor

The president of the computer club. Ever since losing his computer to a rampaging Haruhi, he views the SOS Brigade as sworn enemies and rivals. However, he is too pathetic to be considered either by Haruhi. A minor plot point, as some of the brigade's adventures revolve around his antics to get revenge (and his clubs' computers back).

The Computer Research Society President has yet to appear in the scripts.

Kyon's Sister

Voiced By: LittleOtakuGirl

Referred to as "Kyon's Sister" or "Little Sis", she is a fun, carefree, playful younger sister, fulfilling all the roles to Kyon a little sister should do. She is usually seen at their home. She is actually responsible for causing a misunderstanding with Kyon's name, spreading it around his friends until it was normal to call her brother what he is nicknamed now. She seems to get along well with all of the SOS Brigade, especially with Mikuru and Tsuruya.

Kyon's Sister has yet to make an appearance in the scripts or novels.
